Discover Your Unique Facilitation Strengths
An introduction to the Five Personas
Time & Location
Apr 21, 2021, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
A masterful facilitator maximizes the strengths of five unique personas – The Sensei, The Drill Sergeant, The Superhero, The Confidant, and The Jester. Each persona serves a purpose, and they combine to deliver a powerful experience for the participants.
Some personas show up naturally, others require focused effort. Effective facilitation requires recognizing how the personas come to life and knowing how to strike a balance.
What to expect if you plan to attend:
This will be an interactive, hands-on learning session with high levels of participation. You’ll be invited to turn on your cameras and microphones to engage in activities and conversations with colleagues during the workshop.
The core outcomes will be for you to:
- Explore how skilled facilitators engage audiences and animate learning experiences using the Five Personas of Masterful Facilitation™
- Discover a unique view of your core facilitation strengths through the Five Personas Benchmark™ assessment tool
A note about Shift Facilitation:
At Shift, we believe that at the heart of an exceptional learning experience, there is likely to be a masterful facilitator. A facilitator who transforms the environment, and ensures the experience is both productive and engaging. A facilitator who inspires action in others and drives results for the organizations they serve.
Shift is on a mission. We’re teaching the tools, tricks, and techniques of exceptional facilitation. In a Shift workshop, virtually of course, we’re paying it forward to inspire the next generation of facilitators.
A note about Moe Poirier:
As Founding Partner of Shift Facilitation, Moe is on a mission to have corporate trainers and facilitators reinvent themselves as change agents and value creators.
For over 20 years, he has honed his craft as a facilitator and an award-winning designer of training. Moe has a gift for bringing learning to life and motivating others to strive for more.
His sense of adventure has led him to some interesting places, working with clients across North America as well as in the UK and Saudi Arabia. And his natural curiousity is well served by the breadth of industries he has explored – from manufacturing to insurance, and from retail to pharma.
Most recently, his assignments have included the development of virtual facilitation performance standards and in-house coaching tools for a global financial services client. And back home here in Canada he has been a champion for L&D professional standards leading the “Paper to Practice” and “Virtual Facilitation Excellence” certification programs through the Institute for Performance and Learning.
At heart, Moe is an engineer, an entrepreneur, and an educator. The engineer is purposeful. The entrepreneur is creative. The educator is open. When you meet Moe, you experience a quiet confidence and a generous spirit.
Outside of the training classroom, you’ll find Moe playing hockey, messing around with photography, or spending time with his family at their home in Roncesvalles, Toronto.
