This session will speak to why Running Training Like A Business is a highly relevant topic for today and why Transforming L&D is important and critical to your organizations. You will learn how organizations are performing today against the key concepts and principles of running training like a business and what the “must do’s” are for running training like a business and transformation. And, you hopefully will conclude that the view is worth the climb for transforming L&D.
Speaker - Edward Trolley, SVP Managed Training Services, NIIT (USA) Inc
Edward Trolley is widely recognized for having started the training outsourcing industry when he orchestrated the first comprehensive training outsourcing deal between DuPont and The Forum Corporation in 1993. After joining The Forum Corporation, he continued to advance this outsourcing concept with leading companies such as The Moore Corporation, NCR, Texas Instruments, KPMG Canada, SmithKline Beecham, Irving Oil and other organizations around the globe. He has orchestrated more comprehensive training outsourcing relationships than anyone on the planet.
Prior to entering the training outsourcing provider space, Mr. Trolley spent 26 years with DuPont where he held a variety of progressive leadership positions in three of DuPont’s strategic business units and two of its functional organizations. In his last role, he was head of DuPont’s Training and Education where he oversaw and guided the training and education for the 110,000-person multi-national corporation
Mr. Trolley received his B.S. in Management Science from the Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, OH. In 1994, he received the Excellence in Sales and Marketing Award from the Sales and Marketing Executives of Philadelphia. In 1996, Mr. Trolley was selected as one of 60 civilians by the Secretary of Defense to participate in the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference. In 2002, 2015 and 2016, Mr. Trolley was named as one of the “100 Superstars of HR Outsourcing” by HRO Today magazine and in 2007, he was recognized as one of the industry’s top 20 most influential people in training by TrainingIndustry.com.
Mr. Trolley is co-author of the book, Running Training Like A Business: Delivering Unmistakable Value, published by Berrett-Koehler. He is also a contributing author to three ASTD published books, Building Learning Capability Through Outsourcing, Lies About Learning and More Lies About Learning. He is a highly requested presenter at industry conferences and has spoken at major events such as ASTD, TechLearn, The World Outsourcing Summit and the HRO World Outsourcing Conference. His concepts and ideas have been included in hundreds of business publications around the globe.
