Data analytics is not new to learning and development (L&D) – are you able to measure impact on the larger business goals? Before designing any learning program, are you starting with the business goals in mind? From there, do you identify actions and behaviors needed to achieve those goals, determine the learning needed to support those actions, and finally design the program needed to inspire that learning.
HR can use L&D as a resource to set up and do things differently. L&D can connect people and the business with training, performance, learning, measurement and data analytics. HR has recently gone through significant changes and thriving in the future means throwing out what was done in the past and introducing new HR strategies. One approach is using data analytics to assess and drive people strategy with tactical decision making. Facts and data are important elements of decision making.
