Session Description

Have difficulty getting employees to hear your messages, be aware of available training and understand the importance of taking it? To be ‘heard’ through everything competing for their attention, you need to think like a marketer. Learn how to leverage existing platforms in your organization to create multi-channel learning campaigns, and discover how small changes to your current approach can produce major results. By thinking like a marketer and getting creative, you can influence employees to take ownership of their learning and development. Ultimately, you will be helping to foster a culture of learning.

Speaker Biography

MJ Macdonald – Director, Learning & Development

MJ Macdonald leads the Learning & Development team at Ivari, a Canadian life insurance company based in Toronto. The first 10 years of her career were spent in high-tech marketing, developing programs in direct response television, print advertising and events and then later, through interactive online promotions in the dotcom space. In her transition to learning over the last 15 years, she has continued to wear her marketing hat while developing and delivering enterprise training in both Canada and the United States on topics from communication and leadership to customer service and technology in the wellness and retail environments and now in the finance sector, where she also drives the learning strategy. She is a passionate adult educator and learner herself: in her spare time she teaches private yoga and runs a small business focussed on wine education and events.
